About the Role

JoyRide Logistics LLC is looking for an experienced and analytical Controlling Manager to oversee financial and operational controls, reporting, KPIs, reconciliations, and performance monitoring across the organization.

This is a hands-on management role requiring a strong understanding of both the financial and operational side of a transportation/logistics company. The Controlling Manager will work closely with Operations, Safety, HR, Recruitment, Maintenance, Billing & Payroll, as well as our affiliated company, JoyRide Fleet Center Inc.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and improve internal controls and controlling procedures.
  • Monitor weekly and monthly financial and operational performance.
  • Develop KPIs, dashboards, management reports, and performance reviews.
  • Analyze expenses, revenue, payroll, maintenance, and operational costs.
  • Investigate variances, unusual expenses, discrepancies, and inefficiencies.
  • Monitor fleet utilization, driver productivity, mileage, revenue, and maintenance costs.
  • Review billing, payroll, and revenue reconciliation.
  • Perform regular reconciliations between operational, accounting, payroll, and maintenance records.
  • Ensure transactions and expenses are properly documented and categorized.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow planning, and cost-control initiatives.
  • Prepare clear weekly and monthly reports for management.
  • Develop SOPs and internal control procedures.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accountability, and profitability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field.
  • Experience in controlling, financial analysis, accounting, audit, FP&A, or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of financial statements, reconciliations, budgeting, and variance analysis.
  • Experience in transportation, logistics, fleet, or trucking is strongly preferred.
  • Advanced Excel and/or Google Sheets skills.
  • QuickBooks or similar accounting software experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to work with large amounts of data.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with department managers and senior management.
  • High level of ownership, accountability, and confidentiality.
