About the Role
As a Safety and Compliance Officer, you’ll be responsible for maintaining driver qualification records, implementing compliance procedures, and ensuring that all company operations adhere to FMCSA and DOT regulations. This role plays a vital part in supporting safety initiatives, managing documentation, and ensuring continuous regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain safety DQ (Driver Qualification) files and records.
- Implement safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including FMCSA and DOT requirements.
- Participate in new driver orientation and onboarding processes.
- Monitor and maintain all compliance items, including physicals, licenses, random drug screens, annual reviews, and hours-of-service records.
- Assist management with compliance-related projects and safety initiatives as needed.
Qualifications
- At least 1 year of experience in a similar or closely related role.
- Willingness to learn company-specific computer programs.
- Proficient in English (oral and written).
- Ability to interface effectively and build strong relationships.
- Effective communication and analytical skills.
- Strong ability to multitask, stay organized, and meet deadlines.
- Active listening and attention to detail.
- Alumni of a Faculty of Traffic and Transport Engineering, Law, or Economics preferred.
